Letters of Hope
B.OKideas is a proud partner of Letters of Hope.
Letters of Hope aims to spread kindness, raise awareness and break the stigma around mental health by sending handwritten letters to those who are going through a tough time.
Through sending these letters, Letters of Hope shares helpful coping strategies, words of empowerment and connects those who are struggling with the support that could turn things around.
Gifts That Keep on Giving
Inside your B.OK gift you will have received a blank postcard to participate in this social purpose initiative. We encourage you to get involved by writing a Letter of Hope and have included some prompts below to help you get started.
The bookmark you have received is yours to keep, however you may like to pass it on to someone in your life to continue the chain of social connection and kindness.

Getting Started
Letters of Hope receive many requests without much detail, so they are always in need of general letters sharing messages of kindness, care and compassion. They also have a letter categorisation system (see below) and you are welcome to personalise your letter based on a specific topic if you prefer.
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Other Mental Health Condition
- Social Isolation/Loneliness
- Grief and Loss
- Domestic and Family Violence
- Physical Health Concern
- Relationship Issues/Breakdown
- Identity and/or Culture Related Issue
- Terminal Illness
You can start your letter with ‘Dear Friend’ or ‘Dear Stranger’.
If your friend or someone you care about was going through a difficult time, what would you say to them? You may like to Google positive and uplifting quotes for inspiration. The main objective of a Letter of Hope is to reassure the recipient that they are not alone and that they are going to get through this.
If You Get Stuck
Think about a time when you needed kind words and reassurance. If you could write yourself a letter, what would you say? Putting yourself in the shoes of a person who has reached a tough point in their life can often help you find the words.
Letter Distribution
Once you have finished writing your letter please return it to your Human Resources team and they will collate and send to the Letters of Hope Head Office. Abbie and her team will then distribute the letters along with helpful tools and resources to support the letter recipients.
